Discipline has come to be a rare commodity. It’s not like it’s difficult to get but it becomes hard to sustain.
One of the traits that makes successful people successful has to be the discipline they have imbibed to stay true to their course.
Distractions would always want to find it’s way and make one lose focus hence resulting to little or no productivity.
What makes the successful look like they are soaring effortlessly has to do with their discipline to keep their focus despite the so many luring distractions to keep them off track.
As a social impact leader, who wants to experience progress in a particular sector has to learn the art of discipline and train herself to be disciplined.
The reason is this, in the process of switching lanes multiple times, there is a high tendency for you not to believe in yourself or your dream any longer.
You begin to doubt yourself and the authenticity of your vision or dream.
This can be as a result of focusing so much on the results of others without trying to learn whatever habit or culture they have that made them successful.
Focusing so much on how others are making impact can make you trivialise how you can make impact.
You now begin to focus on their talent and see how you can do the same thing they do instead of maximising YOUR TALENT for impact.
Just because someone seems to be impactful in a so called big way, doesn’t make you insignificant , doesn’t mean you should now begin to see your own as little or not enough.
Never trivialise your talent for impact just because it doesn’t seem to be making a big wave yet.
Transformation is a process.
The fact that you are talented isn’t enough, how you would effectively and intentionally use that talent to cause a change is what matters.
Be driven by your vision and not the result of others. They can only inspire you to be better but never should they make you feel less of yourself.
As a social impact leader, there would be so many lonely times where you would ask yourself questions like “who sent me?” You now begin to feel like you are not getting the help you need, like you are all alone whereby others seem to be doing so fantastically well and so effortlessly at that.
It’s totally okay to feel this way and you would still feel this way many times.
One thing I want you to do is to always REVISIT the drawing board and remind yourself of your WHY. Take yourself down the lane of memories, how you felt when you decided to do this, the resolution you made. Trust God in me, the spark is sure to come back.
Don’t put yourself into depression or under pressure because of the blooming result of others. Just believe in your mind that they worked hard for it hence work hard for yours too.
The change you desire is possible.
You are not the first to have a dream and many became a reality. Yours won’t be any different.
The world you dream of is POSSIBLE.
