CREATIVITY AS A SUPERPOWER FOR IMPACT

One of the most beautiful thing about we humans is how diverse we are in the way we do things.

Each of us has this uniqueness that keeps blowing our minds no matter how we want to disregard it.

Especially youths of today, gosh, we are so creative. You would see some people doing amazing work just with speaking, being funny, writing, acting, sewing, dancing, teaching , just to mention a few.

The creativity you possess is a superpower itself.

Yours can be that you are just so excellent, you know how to bring excellence to whatever it is you do. Amazing, right?

Very quickly, let’s explore different ways we can use our creativity for impact:

🔅FILMMAKING:

Apart from school, one other place that have improved my vocabulary and made me have knowledge about other career and culture has to be the movies I watch. That’s why I would forever appreciate the presence of films. It can’t and shouldn’t be going anywhere. In fact, more than ever before films with transformational messages should be promoted the more and not the ones that are influencing lives especially children negatively.

Are you interested in filmmaking?

Are you good at it?

Or are you willing to level up your filmmaking skills?

Then you should do something about it very fast because we can’t wait to watch your film. If you really have the desire to cause a change, this is one powerful way to go about it because there are some stakeholders you need in your social impact goal to be accomplished faster. Share your message through film, put in the work necessary to ensure it gets to their faces. Take Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham as an example. See how they are shamelessly pushing their work.

You are not too small to create films that impact.

Personally, I want to watch and spread your message.

Give it your best.

🔅DANCING:

When I came across some less-privileged children who gained confidence and saw themselves in a better light just because they were taught how to dance.

Dancing really has a way of lifting people up. It makes them feel good about themselves.

Stop dancing just to show us how well you can shake your butts or how flexible you are. Level up. Take it higher.

Use dancing as a tool to impact lives.

Little do you know you are possessing the key to someone’s liberation.

You can empower little children with dancing skills that can even open them up for opportunities at the global level. Train them to become the best in the field. Help them to compete and win even in their young age. You would have accomplished more than what you ever imagined.

〽️CONTENT CREATION:

It’s high time we stopped deceiving ourselves. A lot of people are still so influenced by the content produced on social media every day.

You see some content creators like Eniola, Salem King, Aproko doctor, just to mention. See how they effortlessly share their thoughts on matters and people keep consuming their content.

What you don’t realise here is that, they are in one way shaping the beliefs of people whether they like it or not. People would begin to live their lives according to their opinions.

You have the message that can impact one’s life positively?

Why then are you hoarding it?

Share it!

〽️TEACHING:

If you are someone like me who is a teacher at heart. We can’t help but communicate something impactful in all of our messages. Then don’t neglect it.

Teaching is so powerful.

You can train or educate people regarding how they can cause a change regarding a particular social issue.

With the little explanation I’ve done, you would get to realise that you have more than enough to impact lives.

Start impacting, you are creative enough!

Feeding the less privileged is not sustainable?

On the 28th of May 2022, I went along with a non-profit I volunteer for called TEAK Foundations for a charity event at Bariga(Lagos) to celebrate Children's day with the children in the area. Of what use is feeding them just once and for them to be hungry tomorrow "I often thought". It feels like a waste of time. It feels like they are not being helped. I often thought that they should be empowered if they are adults so they can begin to feed themselves and for children, it would be better if a farm or food bank can be created as this would be quite sustainable.  Looking at it from this angle would make you agree with me that charity events are not sustainable but does it make them unnecessary? No, it is still very important and valid. As a non-profit, we might not be able to scrap the daily hunger but we were able to leave them with an unforgettable experience for just that day, we were able to make them not hungry for just that one moment. All it takes for a life to be ...

Feeling unmotivated?

I love God (so she claims), and I want to live my life solely for God. Yet, she finds herself being indisciplined and doing things that either waste her time or are of no value. Yes, she knows the importance of having a well-structured priority list. She isn't even sure if getting easily distracted is her problem or if she is just confused. She has a vision. She has a goal. She has positive intentions. All of her intentions are for the benefit of mankind. Yet, she finds herself still going in circles and it seems like she isn't growing or going towards the fulfillment of her vision. What would you do if you are here? Or should I say, what would be your best advice to her? My Advice. Honestly, this can happen to anybody it happens to almost everybody including your favorite people. The only reason why you haven't noticed is that they were able to still do the needful despite these things that happens to them. The key here is Self - discipline. I'm usually blown away whe...

IT’S CLOSER TO YOU THAN YOU THINK

I’m never going to have dreams! Exclaimed by a little girl who was watching the TV with her parents one beautiful afternoon. She was seeing the news report about the result from the just concluded election and the lives that were lost from the whole process. Right there, she made a decision not to be involved in anything that has to do with contributing to the society. She would rather prefer being comfortable in her own house with her family and minding her business. Many youths are like this today. You don’t want to get involved. Everything is now SCAM as it’s popularly called in Nigeria today. We no longer believe anything neither do we want to believe. We’ve come to embrace the mentality of “anything that does not concern me does not concern me” I.e we’ve so much embraced a selfish mentality as long as we have food to eat. The truth is, it isn’t our fault! The dirty stereotype the society has painted in our faces are so green in our memory that we can’t erase it even if we wa...
